The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) Online Trading Platform was recently nominated for the Jamaica Computer Society President's Awards along with the Rural Agricultural Authority's (RADA) Anti-Praedial Larceny System.

The JSE Online Trading Platform launched in May allows investors to buy and sell securities using the Internet. The development and delivery of the JSE's Online Trading Platform satisfies one of the JSE's strategic objectives - that of placing customers central to growth.

According to Marlene Street Forrest, JSE's general manager, to have been nominated for the Jamaica Computer Society President's Award is a significant achievement by the JSE and it shows that the stock exchange is being recognised for its cutting edge products.

"We thank the board for giving its blessing to JSE's management to develop the Online Trading Platform and the team that developed it. Teamwork is the best stimulant to achieving great success and this can be seen in the timely development of the Online Trading Platform," Street Forrest said.

She congratulated RADA on winning the award and for their contribution to the Jamaican economy through the farming sector. She also thanked the Jamaica Computer Society for considering the JSE for such a prestigious award.

The Jamaica Computer Society's Conference was held in Montego Bay from October 29 - 31, and culminated with an awards banquet at the Hyatt Ziva Hotel.
