Local Government embarks on holiday clean-up programme

Local Government Minister, Noel Arscott, says the initiative, which started last week, is aimed at cleaning critical drains and carrying out bushing in major towns.

The Ministry of Local Government, through the various parish councils, has embarked on an islandwide clean-up programme for the upcoming holiday season.

Local Government Minister, Noel Arscott, says the initiative, which started last week, is aimed at cleaning critical drains and carrying out bushing in major towns.

Arscott says special emphasis is being placed on identifying and destroying mosquito breeding sites.

He says the programme will continue through the Christmas season and possibly into the New Year.
