Road deaths to date surpass last year's total - NRSC
With more than a month to go before the end of the year, the number of persons killed on the nation’s roadways has already surpassed the total number of road deaths recorded last year.
Statistics provided by the National Road Safety Council (NRSC) show that up to yesterday 332 persons have died in 310 motor vehicle crashes this year.
A total of 331 persons died in motor vehicle crashes in 2014.
The NRSC says the 332 road deaths recorded so far this year is 17 per cent or 45 more than was recorded for the corresponding period last year.
According to the NRSC data, the 38 road deaths recorded in March represents the largest for any one-month period while November is on pace to record the lowest with 23 so far.
