Clarendon Parish Council to extend May Pen market hours for Christmas season
The Chairman of the Clarendon Parish Council, May Pen Mayor Scean Barnswell says the council will be implementing a system of night vending in May Pen for this Christmas season.
The decision was made following lobby by vendors for the May Pen Market to be opened for longer hours.
The market opens at six each morning and closes and six in the evenings.
Mayor Barnswell says the longer operating hours will allow the council to accommodate migrant vendors who do business in the town centre.
Meanwhile, he says the council has to deal with the yearly issue of migrant vendors descending on the parish capital.
