Financial company, Jamaica National (JN), is to host a town hall meeting for Jamaicans living in The Cayman Islands tomorrow to discuss, among other things, implications from the withdrawal of banking services for remittances businesses in the island.

The meeting is scheduled for the Family Life Centre in George Town at 6 p.m.

JN says it is in talks with the Cayman Islands Money Authority and it will use the meeting to update the Jamaicans on those discussions aimed at re-establishing transactions in Caymanian dollars.

General manager of Jamaica National Building Society, Earl Jarrett and chairman of JN Money Services Cayman, Leesa Kow, are expected to deliver the main address.

Currently, more than 8,000 Jamaicans who have work permits live in the Cayman Islands.

According to JN, this represents 40 per cent of the foreign workforce in the country.
