The Kingston Central Police have detained four suspects in connection with this morning's theft outside the Duke Street Branch of the National Commercial Bank in Kingston.

Head of the Kingston Central Police, Superintendent Michael Scott, says the four men were detained following an operation this afternoon.

He says the men are now being interrogated but declined to divulge much details.

The police say a woman was about to enter the bank with a bag of cash when two men rode up on a motor cycle.

According to the police, the men grabbed at the woman who dropped the bag and ran.

Superintendent Scott dismissed earlier reports that a man was shot and injured during the incident.

Following the incident this morning, police investigators diverted traffic in the vicinity of NCB Duke Street as Scenes of Crime sleuths processed the area.
