A complaint has been lodged with the Political Ombudsman, Donna Parchment Brown against the People’s National Party's Central Westmoreland Member of Parliament, Dwayne Vaz.

The complaint was filed today by the General Secretary of the Jamaica Labour Party, Dr Horace Chang following utterances by Vaz at a political meeting in St James last night.

In commenting on an incident surrounding the circumstances under which the office of a PNP Councillor was burnt down, Vaz reportedly began singing a violent song by imprisoned dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel.

Vaz has subsequently apologised for the incident.

However, according to the JLP General Secretary, Vaz’s behavior was a clear breach of the political code of conduct which could serve to incite political violence.

Dr Chang is also calling on the PNP hierarchy to rein in its members and to discipline Vaz in particular for his reckless and irresponsible utterance.
