Commissioner of Police, Dr Carl Williams, says the Child Interaction Policy and Procedure is critical to the JCF, as it continues to protect the rights of children.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has drafted a policy to govern how police personnel treat children in their care.

Commissioner of Police, Dr Carl Williams, says the Child Interaction Policy and Procedure is critical to the JCF, as it continues to protect the rights of children.

The policy seeks to foster a child-friendly environment within the JCF, safeguard the rights of the child and ensure that all children are treated in accordance with the JCF’s legal and ethical obligations.

Williams is urging all members of the Force to vigilantly employ the policy each time they interact with a child.
