The National Works Agency (NWA) is reporting that heavy rainfall during the past 72 hours has resulted in blockage and flooding along several roadways in St Thomas.

Communication Manager at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, says sections of the Morant River Bridge to Trinityville roadway in the vicinity of Danvers Pen are partially blocked.

Shaw says the Potosi to Morant River Bridge roadway is now impassable as it is blocked by fallen trees and boulders.

He notes that there is no alternative route.

The NWA Communication Manager says the Bowden to Bowden Wharf roadway is also partially blocked by washed down silt and debris.

Shaw says flooding along the Pamphret to Morant Bay roadway in the vicinity of Belvedere and Church Corner is restricting traffic movement.

He says the NWA is mobilising work crews and equipment to have these roadways fully cleared.

He is advising motorists to proceed with caution along the affected roadways.
