OUR to audit NWC Billing and Metering System
The Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) is seeking to undertake an audit of the National Water Commission’s Billing and Metering System.
The utility regulator is now in the process of engaging the services of an auditor to conduct the exercise.
The OUR points out that there have been complaints from consumers to the agency about the NWC’s system.
The OUR says the audit will seek to determine whether the NWC’s billing system consistently provides accurate customer invoices that are dispatched within the right timeframe and look into the legitimacy of the complaints.
There’s also to be an assessment of the extent to which the NWC is compliant with the OUR’s Quality of Service Performance Targets.
The utility regulator says the audit will also try to identify any areas of weakness within the NWC’s metering and billing systems and make recommendations.
