Miss Jamaica World returns today after being stranded in China
Miss Jamaica World 2015, Dr Sanneta Myrie, is scheduled to return home today, days after she was left stranded at a Chinese airport.
Myrie who finished in the top five was due to leave China on Monday but missed her flight and was stuck in Beijing until help came from friends and the Jamaican diplomatic community.
The Miss Jamaica World franchise holder, Laura Butler, told The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre last night that Myrie missed the flight on Monday and left China the following day.
Butler could not say why the flight was missed but explained that she contacted government officials who intervened and resolved the situation.
However, Rayon McLean, one of Myrie's friends who was key in her preparations, says Butler is to be blamed for the situation.
He argues that Butler did not maintain suitable communication with Myrie and took too long to respond to an email from Myrie highlighting the airport situation.
McLean is also rejecting Butler's assertion that some of Myrie's friends are 'toxic' and are seeking to exploit her position as the Miss Jamaica World 2015.
Myrie is due to arrive at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston at 4:30 this afternoon.
