Principal withdraws money from school's account, charged
The principal the Aqueduct Country Club in St Catherine is to return to court next month on allegations surrounding the withdrawal of more than $700,000 from the school's account.
Fifty-one-year-old Naomi Cunningham was charged on Tuesday for breaches of the Larceny Act by detectives attached to the Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch, C-TOC.
She appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court, where she was offered $100,000 bail.
She's to return to court on January 18.
The police say on January 13 last year, 20 cheques worth $719,180 were lodged to the school's account, which Cunningham reportedly had access to.
They say she withdrew the money from the account via third party Internet transactions.
She allegedly wrote cheques to several individuals.
