Two die in Christmas eve crashes

The police are reporting that two persons were killed in road crashes as the country celebrated Christmas Eve yesterday.

In one incident, 38-year-old Nesbeth Fowler of Somerhill, St James succumbed to injuries he received in an accident along Struie Road in Bethel Town, Westmoreland.

The Bethel Town Police say Fowler was attempting to cross the roadway about 9:15 last night when he was hit by a Toyota Hiace mini bus.

He was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Earlier yesterday 45-year-old Donovan Thompson of Benin Road, Browns Town, St Ann died from injuries he received in a collision along the Pear Tree main road in the parish.

The Runaway Bay Police say about 10:48 yesterday morning, Thompson was driving his Toyota Wish motor vehicle when he collided with a motor truck.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
