Footprints: Edison Burge - A generous, loving and compassionate man

Edison Dennis Burge remembered by family and friends as a generous, loving and compassionate man.

The 22-year-old, who had a passion for technology, cars and music, died December 12.

He was born March 4, 1993, at St Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut, United States, to Jamaican parents Headley and Dolly Burge.

Edison, also called Dennis, attended E.B. Kennelly School and enjoyed playing American football, soccer and basketball.

He attended Pathways to Technology for two years, before transferring to Bulkeley High School, where he ran track, played football and graduated in 2011.

Alison, his twin sister, recalled him being free-spirited, outgoing, and energetic.

"He loved to laugh, dance and have fun with his loved ones," she said.

"He was the class clown, always making a joke," Alison saidof her brother, who was the victim of a homicide.

Edison leaves behind three sisters - Vanessa, Alesia, his twin, Alison; brothers Morais and Jason, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and his loving grandmother, Icilda McCootie.

"He was showered with love by all of his relatives and friends. He will be sadly missed," the family said.

A funeral was held at Henry L. Fuqua Funeral Service in Bloomfield, December 21. Burial followed at Silver Lane Cemetery in East Hartford.
