Two men linked to murder of JUTC driver arrested

The two suspects in the shooting murder of a Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus driver in August Town, St Andrew on are now in police custody.

According to law enforcement sources, the men were arrested between Wednesday and today.

Fifty-one-year-old Albert Barnes, a father of two children, was shot in the chest by one of the men in an attempted robbery 13 seconds after they boarded his No. 72 bus in August Town.

Campbell has confirmed that a video recording of the incident which was captured by the internal camera system on board the bus and has already been turned over to the police.

He said the video shows that one of the men held a gun to Barnes' neck before stepping back and firing once, hitting the driver in the chest.

Barnes died at the University Hospital of the West Indies a short time later.
