An April 8 mention date has been set for popular Kingston doctor, Lloyd Goldson, and a mother, who are being accused of being involved in an alleged abortion in relation to a 12-year-old girl.

The date was set when the two reappeared in court this morning.

The court was informed that certain documents are not ready.

The case was then set for mention.

Goldson is being represented by attorneys-at-law Hugh Wildman and Barbara Hines, while the woman is being represented by attorney-at-law Bryan Clarke.

The doctor is charged with procuring an abortion and administering drugs to procure abortion.

The 32-year-old mother of the child is also charged with procuring abortion as well as cruelty to a child and failure to make a report to the Office of the Children’s Registry.

Both accused were arrested and charged in 2012.

It is reported that the woman took her daughter, who was four months pregnant, to Goldson’s office who then performed an alleged abortion.

The matter was later brought to the attention of the police, who went to the mother’s home.

The child was reportedly taken for medical attention after complaining about being in pain.

Following investigations by the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) the doctor and the child’s mother were charged.
