Holness to make financial record public by March
Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Leader Andrew Holness today indicated that he plans to release his financial records before the end of March.
Speaking after a meeting with JLP candidates at the Jamaica Conference Centre in downtown Kingston, Holness said he was now in the process of preparing his annual integrity report for last year, which has to be submitted to Parliament by March 31.
Holness indicated that his integrity report would be filed before the deadline and said as soon as that is done his financial records will be made public.
Holness first announced plans to release his financial records last December.
It came after the People’s National Party’s campaign director, Dr Peter Phillips, used a political platform to raise questions about a house the JLP leader and his wife are building in Upper St Andrew's Beverly Hills neighbourhood.
Meanwhile, JLP General Secretary Dr Horace Chang said today’s meeting with its candidates for the upcoming general election was aimed at refocusing their preparedness.
He said with the Christmas holidays over, the party wanted to ensure that its electoral machinery is ready for an election whenever it is called.
