FOOTBALL: Arnett Gardens win to take premier league lead

Defending champions Arnett Gardens have climbed to the top of the Red Stripe Premier League standings after their two-one victory over Montego Bay United at the Tony Spaulding Sports Complex last evening.

Arnett were led to victory courtesy of first-half goals from Vishinul Harris in the 17th minute and Dicoy Williams in the 24th minute.

Ronaldo Rodney netted for Montego Bay United in the 46th minute.

The victory has moved Arnett to the top of the table on 38 points - one ahead of Montego Bay. 

They are followed by Portmore United, who is on 37 points with a game in hand against Harbour View. 

In other games, Cavalier recorded their second straight victory in the new year, with a 1-0 win over host Humble Lion at the Effortville Community Centre.

Dwayne Smith netted the all-important goal for Cavalier in the 38th minute.   

The UWI outclassed Reno 3-1 at the Frome Sports Complex.

Patrick Brown, Girvon Brown and Anthony Grant were the scorers for the UWI while Alburn Facey scored the consolation goal for Reno.

Boys' Town and Waterhouse played out a 0-0 draw while the game between Tivoli Gardens and Rivoli United was postponed.
