Men charged for murder of JUTC driver to make first appearance in court today
The two men charged for the murder of 51-year-old Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus driver, Albert Barnes, are to appear before a court for the first time today.
Twenty-two-year-old Garfield Walters and 28-year-old George Ballentine, both of Bedward Gardens in August Town, St Andrew are to appear before the Half-Way Tree Resident Magistrate’s Court.
It's understood that Walters has confessed to the murder.
Walters and Ballentine are charged with murder, illegal possession of a firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.
The two were charged on January 5, after being interviewed by the police.
Barnes was driving a JUTC bus along Bedward Crescent on December 29 when he was shot dead in an alleged attempted robbery.
