The driver of a truck remains in custody following yesterday's multiple vehicle crash in Trelawny that left a tourist dead.

The police told The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre last night that the truck driver may have committed a violation.

The deceased woman, who was vacationing on a cruise ship docked in Montego Bay was pronounced dead at the Falmouth Hospital.‎

Several other visitors had to be treated for various injuries.

The crash which involved  a bus, a truck, a van and a car, took place in the Carey Park area of Duncans in Trelawny.

It's reported that the driver of a dump truck heading towards Falmouth, lost control of the vehicle and ran into the bus in which the tourists were travelling en route to Montego Bay.

The driver of a car that was behind the truck, also lost control of his vehicle and ran off the road.

The fourth vehicle was damaged after it swerved to avoid hitting ‎the others.
