One of the four prisoners who escaped from the Whithorn Police Lock-up in Westmoreland on Wednesday has been recaptured.

He’s 21-year-old Dondre Hyman, otherwise called ‘Donte’.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Winchroy Budhoo, says Hyman was held yesterday during an operation in Westmoreland.

He says the police continue to actively pursue the other escapes.

ACP Budhoo is also appealing to the public for help in recapturing the men.

Still on the run are Romaine Jenkinson, Marvin Wilson and Orlando Jarrett.

Meanwhile, ACP Budhoo says the police personnel on duty at the time of the jailbreak at Whithorn Police will be held accountable.

Noting that investigations are continuing, the Assistant Commissioner of Police said action will be taken where necessary.
