The Transport Authority says it has launched an investigation into Wednesday’s crash along the New Green main road in Manchester which left several persons injured including students.

The crash involved a Toyota Tacoma pick-up and a Toyota Hiace minibus, which plies the Balaclava to Mandeville route.

Eighteen persons were reportedly injured in the crash, four of whom are still hospitalised.

The Transport Authority says in light of the number of crashes involving public passenger vehicles since the start of the year, it is calling for all road users to ensure strict adherence to the regulations governing the use of the roads.

Additionally, the Authority is urging all operators of public passenger vehicles to exercise due care when transporting passengers and observe the prescribed speed limits, the terms and conditions of their road licences and the law.
