The Hanover Parish Council is moving to address road and water problems in the community of Blenheim in the parish.

Mayor of Lucea Wynter McIntosh said his team will be visiting the affected areas in the community today, to confirm the strategies planned to address the concerns.

"We just need to do the necessary assessments and get a proper estimate and do a comprehensive fixing, as well as deal with the water problems affecting this community," said Mayor McIntosh, who was speaking with JIS News about plans for Blenheim ahead of the celebrations to mark the 132nd anniversary of the birth of National Hero, Rt Excellent Alexander Bustamante on February 24.

Mayor McIntosh, who is also chairman of the Cultural Development Committee, tasked with planning the event, said students, community groups, and political and civic leaders, will come together in a fitting and memorable salute to a great son of Hanover. The annual celebration is expected to cost at least one million dollars.
