Police killings dropped to 16-year low in 2015
Police killings dropped to a 16-year low last year.
According to the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM), 98 persons were killed by the police in 2015.
This is 15 per cent less than the 129 police killings recorded in 2014 and 42 per cent less than the 258 recorded in 2013.
The 98 police killings were part of the 109 security-forces related fatalities last year.
INDECOM says three people were killed by members of the Jamaica Defence Force, seven died in custody while one was classified as other.
