23-year-old bank teller charged for stealing money from customers' accounts

Reports are that Duhaney, who is employed to a financial institution, gained unauthorised access to several customers’ accounts and removed money in small portions without the permission of the institution.

A bank teller from St Catherine has been arrested and charged for stealing close to $300,000 from customers' accounts.

He is 23-year-old Joevan Duhaney of Windsor Heights in the parish.

Duhaney is charged with larceny as a servant and unauthorised access.

He was picked up by the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime (C-TOC) Investigation Branch following a report to the Fraud Squad within C-TOC.

Reports are that Duhaney, who is employed to a financial institution, gained unauthorised access to several customers’ accounts and removed money in small portions without the permission of the institution.

He was granted bail in the sum of $100,000 with surety.

He is scheduled to appear before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, February 17.
