Independent candidate suggests merger of third parties
Ahead of the February 25 general election one independent candidate is pushing for a merger of all third parties.
President of the Jamaica Alliance Movement, Ras Astor Black, is suggesting the National Democratic movement, The People's Political Party and all independent candidates join forces to contest the impending polls.
Black, along with other independent candidates and third parties will be meeting in Montego Bay this Sunday where he hopes to put forward the idea of a merger.
Black says he will also suggest that the independent candidates contest the election under the NDM since it is already a registered political party.
Black is hoping the NDM can have a representative for all 63 seats instead of just the 35 it has in mind.
Black is planning to contest the South St James seat against the PNP's incumbent Derrick Kellier and the JLP's Homer Davis.
