Some 100 persons were taken into custody for processing during a series of operations this morning as the police continue their efforts to improve public order across the Corporate Area.

The operations, which lasted close to four hours, targeted the Ripon Road, Eureka Road and Eureka Crescent areas.

The police say one man, identified as 47-year-old Allan Jacob, of a North Avenue address, was arrested and charged for possession of cocaine and ganja.

The police say two other persons were charged under the National Solid Waste Management Act.

The Centre for the Investigations of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse and the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Division were among the police units that participated in the operations.
