The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) is expected to name a new candidate for the constituency of North Central St Catherine at its Montego Bay mass rally this evening.

General Secretary Dr Horace Chang on Friday confirmed that Peter Abrahams, the Bog Walk Division councillor who was selected to represent the party in the constituency, had stepped aside for personal reasons.

Speaking to The Gleaner/Power106 News Centre  yesterday, Chang revealed that the JLP is looking at several people to replace Abrahams.

However, he says the party is going over a number of issues before making an announcement, which could come this evening.
