The police have released a statement saying a known gangster from Flanker, St James is among the victims of a shooting incident on Sunday night at a Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) mass meeting in Sam Sharpe Square, Montego Bay.

He has been identified as 22-year-old Javin Campbell otherwise called 'Javinci'.

Two other people were shot dead and two others injured when gunshot rang out forcing an abrupt end to the presentation of JLP Leader Andrew Holness.

Holness was immediately escorted from the platform.

Campbell and another of the deceased died on the spot amid what the police say was a dispute among persons attending the mass rally.

According to the police, the shooting was contained within the area where the dispute occurred and no shots were fired in the direction of the podium.

The police say they will provide further details on the matter.
