WOODSTOCK, Manchester:

Residents of Woodstock and adjoining communities stood in dismay Monday night at the house of Lanscel and Corretta Gregory who were found dead with stab wounds all over their bodies.

According to police and eyewitnesses, the couple was killed the night before as they were still dressed in church clothes having returned home from a business meeting. The were also robbed of their motor vehicle.

After calls to their cell phones by relatives went unanswered, the house was visited by family friends who forced the doors open and found the couple lying in a pool of blood.

This has come as a shocker to all the church members specifically the last member the couple saw before their tragic end

"After members/business meeting last night (Sunday), I was asked to drive behind them on their way home as I live further up the road. I ensured they opened the gate and then I drove off," said the church member.

She added: "I never knew this would happen, these two elderly persons don't deserve this, I don't know why persons are so heartless... I don't know if its because they travel frequently why someone would want to rob them thinking they are rich. I just don't know."

This marks the first double murder for the parish and the third killing as a result of stab wounds since the start of the year.
