Portia and Andrew sign Political Code of Conduct
Candidates contesting the February 25 general election have started signing copies of the Political Code of Conduct.
The first round of signing started this morning with Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller and Leader of the opposition, Andrew Holness, affixing their signatures at a ceremony at Emancipation Park in New Kingston.
Simpson Miller was the first of the two to arrive and sign.
When Holness arrived, he greeted Simpson Miller, who expressed surprise at the greeting, and quickly left the venue while Holness signed.
Over the last 24 hours both have made threats to file defamation suits against the other for statements made on the campaign trail.
Candidates in Kingston and St Andrew, Manchester, Clarendon, Trelawny, Portland, St Mary, St James, Westmoreland and St Catherine are signing the Code today.
Candidates in the other parishes will sign tomorrow and Saturday.
