Morgan Heritage gets Grammy award for best reggae album

Morgan Heritage has won the Grammy award for the best Reggae album.

On Monday afternoon, the group of five siblings walked away with the Grammy for their album Strictly Roots.

The album which was released in early 2015 was produced by the family's own record label, CTBC Music Group.

Morgan Heritage took to Twitter to celebrate the achievement.

"WE WON...YES RASTA!" the group tweeted.

"Thank you to all our fans and team that played a part of Strictly Roots Album!"

Among the nominees for best reggae album were: Jah Cure, Luciano, Barrington Levy and Rocky Dawuni of Nigeria.

Morgan Heritage comprises Peetah, Gramps, Nakamyah, Memmalatel and the lone female, Una Morgan.
