Taxi driver shot, killed
An investigation has been launched into circumstances that led to the killing of a man in Bushy Park, Clarendon, last night as he made his way home.
Philip Myrie, a 39-year-old taxi operator of Almond Terrace, Bushy Park, was shot and killed in his community.
According to the police, Myrie was driving his grey Nissan station wagon motor vehicle in the direction of his home when, on approaching his gate, he was fired on several times. Citizens reportedly heard explosions sounding like gunshots and called the police.
On their arrival, Myrie was found slumped over the steering wheel with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the upper body and head. He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
