The police appear to be overwhelmed by some Jamaica Labour Party supporters who are pushing others beyond the barriers set up at the mass rally in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew.

On at least three different occasions, the barriers around the area designated for the media have been ripped asunder although a large contingent of police is on hand.

The police and other security personnel are fighting to stave off the crowd.

On a night that is the last big hurrah before Jamaicans go to the polls on Thursday, Labourites have painted Half-Way Tree green.

The constant reference to the larger turnout by platform speakers suggests that the JLP is intent on beating the numbers drawn out a month ago by the People's National Party.
