The Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ) has written to the Electoral Office of Jamaica requesting that protocols to deal with the media on election day be outlined to election day workers.

The PAJ says it has received several informal reports about the press being barred in some locations on nomination day without any reason.

PAJ President, Dionne Jackson Miller, says she has asked Director of Elections, Orrette Fisher, to outline the media protocol to the workers to prevent what she calls unwarranted incidents on election day.

Jackson Miller says Fisher should tell workers what the press is allowed to do and what is not allowed.

She has asked him to respond by tomorrow evening.
