Slow voting

Polling stations at Ferncourt High School showed little signs of activity when The Gleaner visited about midday.

Voters turned up occasionally to cast their ballot and the lines observed at other locations were not present here. Security personnel said the situation has been like that for most of the morning.

Meanwhile, a buzz of activity is taking place at the PNP constituency office as party supporters prepare for what one voter said is an expected victory. Hanna was there among her supporters, looking calm and relaxed.

In the months leading up to the election, Hanna had to fend off challenges to her position as PNP representative for SE St Ann from Lydia Richards, councillor for the Bensonton division. Hanna won the seat convincingly with more than 8,000 votes.
