JTA saddened by death of educators
The Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) has expressed regret at the death of principal of Mount Airy Primary School in Clarendon, Devon Brown,
In a release, the JTA noted that Brown died at his home yesterday morning after completing work on Monday.
The Association says it joins those who have paid tribute to his life as an educator and as an active member of the Mocho District Association in the parish.
It says the JTA extends condolences to the Mount Airy School family and Brown’s immediate family members.
Meanwhile, the JTA has condemned the slaying of 41-year-old information technology teacher, Orville Francis, of the Port Maria HEART Trust/NTA institution in St Mary.
Francis was found dead at his home in Oracabessa on Monday.
The JTA is encouraging the HEART Trust/NTA family to be strong amid the challenge as they await the outcome of the police investigations.
