PNP leading St Mary South Eastern recount by seven votes

The magisterial recount of ballots cast in the St Mary South Eastern constituency continued Friday with the People's National Party (PNP's) Dr Winston Green leading by seven votes.

Up to 6 p.m, 84 of the 108 boxes had been counted.

Following the official count last week, Green was declared the winner by nine votes over the Jamaica Labour Party's Dr Norman Dunn.

The recount is being held at the Civil Division of the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on Sutton Street in downtown, Kingston.

The exercise which began on Wednesday is expected to resume on Saturday morning.
