Clarendon shooting incidents leave one man dead another nursing injuries
The Clarendon police are investigating two separate shooting incidents which have left one man dead and another nursing injuries.
In the first incident which happened about 8:20 p.m. Thursday night, a 50-year-old labourer of Bullards Content, was shot and injured by a lone gunman in his community.
Information received is that the victim was in his yard, when he was pounced upon by a lone masked man on foot who was armed with a handgun.
It’s further reported that the man opened gunfire at the labourer who managed to run from his attacker and subsequently discovered that he was shot in the right hand.
An alarm was raised and the police arrived in time to take the injured man to hospital where he underwent surgery.
Meanwhile, about 2:50 Friday morning, 29-year-old Odane Wright was shot and killed by unknown assailants.
Residents reported hearing loud explosions sounding like gunshots in an area of Effortville called Buzz Rock and summoned police.
Upon their arrival Wright's body was found lying on its back in a pool of blood in his home with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the head and upper body.
