The Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) says Election Day Workers and suppliers engaged for the February 25 General Elections will be paid by the end of the month.

In a statement this afternoon, the Director of Elections, Orrette Fisher, said the office is aware of concerns by workers and suppliers about the outstanding payments.

Fisher also said the EOJ has started processing payments for the over 60,000 people and it is aiming to finalise this soon.

He says the office understands the importance of paying the workers in a timely manner adding that the EOJ is aware that most of the payees would have incurred costs in relation to the elections.
