North South Highway labourer murdered on worksite

The St Catherine Major Investigation Team has launched a top-level probe into the shooting death of an employee of the North South Highway in the Linstead area of the highway this morning.

The dead man has been identified as Christopher Marshall otherwise called 'Cell Block'.

He was a team leader and labourer of Wakefield district in Savannah, Linstead in St Catherine.

Reports are that about 12:35 this morning Marshall was working with a team of more than 20 men who were constructing a stone wall on a section of the highway.

He was reportedly sitting on a concrete median on the roadway when several explosions were heard.

It was subsequently discovered that Marshall had received gunshot wounds to the upper body.

He was assisted to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators are making an appeal to anyone with information that can assist in this investigation to contact the St Catherine police, 119, Crime Stop at 311 or the nearest Police Station.
