The public will be able to use the Angels to Linstead leg of the North-South Highway free of cost for a while longer as toll rates have not yet been assigned.

The Angels to Linstead leg was opened in February and tolls were expected to be assigned at the end of the month.

However, Managing Director of the National Road Operating and Constructing Company, Ivan Anderson, says the process to assign the toll rates has not yet been completed.

Anderson says the toll rates should be assigned by the end of March.

The Angels to Linstead leg of the North-South Highway was built by China Harbour Engineering Company.

It provides Jamaicans with the option of bypassing the often dangerous Bog Walk Gorge, which, has been the main route for persons travelling from Kingston to the North Coast.
