First Cabinet meeting to focus on board appointments
Information Minister, Senator Ruel Reid, says today’s first meeting of the Andrew Holness-led Cabinet will focus on appointments to state boards.
Senator Reid says the Cabinet wants to have boards up and running to move forward with the country’s business.
Following the results of the February 25 General Elections, which saw the Jamaica Labour Party ousting the People’s National Party, chairmen and fellow members of some key state boards resigned.
This is customary when there is a change in administration.
Even before the elections results, some boards had put some decisions on hold pending the outcome of the elections.
