Minister without portfolio in the Office of the Prime Minister, Daryl Vaz, says the OPM is being organised to manage all the portfolios it will manage.

The government is reportedly still in the process of organising the new Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation which will be managed from the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM).

Minister without portfolio in the Office of the Prime Minister, Daryl Vaz says the OPM is being organised to manage all of its portfolios.

Vaz says that exercise should be completed by the end of this week.

Vaz says once clear functions are given to the ministers in the office of the prime minister, the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation will begin to carry out its promised functions.

The Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation was established based on an election promise made in the Jamaica Labour Party's manifesto.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness described the portfolio as a super ministry, saying it will integrate all government agencies that are instrumental to growth and job creation in Jamaica.

The Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation is also expected to result in speedy approval of government projects that could bring significant economic growth and development to Jamaica.

A government document outlining the assignments of all government ministries, agencies and departments has shown that Audrey Sewell will be the permanent secretary in charge of the ministry.

It will cover subjects ranging from land to environment, water, economic growth and planning, housing and works.
