Road closure planned for Nelson Mandela Highway this weekend

A section the Nelson Mandela Highway is to be closed by the National Works Agency (NWA) for three days.

The NWA says the popular roadway will be closed tomorrow at 10 p.m. and midnight on Sunday.

The agency says the closure is to facilitate pipe laying works for the connection of a sewage main and water pipe across the roadway, in the section between the Highway 2000 Overpass and the Ferry Police Station.

The NWA says vehicular traffic will be diverted onto newly constructed carriageways adjacent to the highway to minimise disruption to traffic flow.

It is advising motorists using the roadway during the closure to proceed with caution and heed posted warning signs.
