Three cops, two accountants arrested in fraud case

Two accountants and three policemen have been arrested and charged in connection with a major fraud case.

The Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency says the five were arrested this morning and have since been granted station bail and booked to appear in the Corporate Area Criminal Court on April 6.

The accountants: Thermalyn Walker of a St Andrew address and Gwendolyn Ward from Willodene, Spanish Town both work at the Ministry of National Security.                                    

They have each been charged with forgery.

The three members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force are charged with embezzlement and larceny.

They are: Corporal Charles Hemans of a Kingston 2 address, Corporal Damion Martin of Trout Hall, Clarendon and Constable Leroy Ashfall.
