Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is advising all persons that Property Taxes for the 2016-2017 fiscal year are due April one.

TAJ says persons have until the end of April to pay their taxes and avoid a ten per cent penalty which may be applied.

Property owners are also reminded that they have the option of paying their property tax in half-yearly instalments at the start of April and October or in quarterly instalments at the start of January, April, July and October.

The TAJ is cautioning persons in arrears that action will be taken against them for overdue amounts.

Property owners are therefore advised to pay all outstanding amounts or visit the nearest tax office to make an arrangement to pay, if they are experiencing difficulty.

The TAJ says property payments may be made at any of the 29 tax offices across the island or online via the Tax Portal at
