A truck laden with food supplies was looted when it crashed along a road in the Carey Park area near Duncans in Trelawny today.

The crash happened about six this morning.

Motorists and residents swooped down on the truck’s supplies and within minutes the load disappeared.

About 45 minutes later when The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre arrived on the scene some canned items were still on the ground.

However, according to one looter, the tins were left behind because they were dented in the crash and were considered undesirable.

Meanwhile, the driver of the truck remains in hospital.

Two other passengers who were in the vehicle were treated for minor injuries.

It’s reported that the driver was travelling along the roadway when he lost control of the truck.
