Mobile App for Carnival Drinkers

As THE carnival season gets into high gear ahead of the final hurrah on April 3, Red Stripe is pushing its responsible drinking campaign. The beer company engaged patrons recently at Bacchanal Nights at the Mas Camp in Kingston with an interactive booth and incentives for persons pledging to drink right.

The Drink Right mobile app was the main feature of the Wi-Fi-enabled booth, bringing the latest technology to the campaign which was launched in 2013.

"The app is designed so that the campaign can reach our many patrons on social and new media. Communication methods are changing worldwide and wherever our patrons are in cyberspace, we want to reach them, especially with a positive campaign such as this which highlights how valued they are to us," said Ricardo Nuncio, Red Stripe's managing director.

With cool features like a one-click link to call a cab, the Drink Right mobile app grabbed the attention of patrons who were escorted into a Drink Right taxi cab. Those who downloaded the app also got a chance to win event tickets as well as complimentary bottles of Malta or water.

Red Stripe will be rolling out its Drink Right app at several carnival events, as well as other sponsored events such as Red Stripe Premier League matches, Beer Festival and the Guinness Street Football finals.

Techies as well as the not-so-tech-savvy can download the Drink Right mobile app from the Google Play Store or click on the link on Red Stripe Facebook pages.
