Police seize 160 rounds of ammo in Clarendon

The Police are reporting that they seized a firearm and a large quantity of ammunition in separate incidents across the island in the last 24 hours.

The police say the seizures began about 8:30 yesterday morning in Manchester, where a team found 15 rounds of ammunition at a garbage heap on an open lot on Wildman Street in Christiana.

No one was arrested in connection with the find.

The police say about 2 o'clock in the afternoon the May Pen Police were conducting an operation in Hayes, Clarendon when they found 160 rounds of ammunition in another open lot.

They say no arrest was made in connection with the seizure.

Meanwhile, the police say the St James Police seized a pistol on Williams Street.

Reports are that about 11 o'clock last night a police team was on patrol and observed two men sitting at North Gully in the parish.

The police say on their approach, one of the men dropped the firearm and ran.
